General Information

This species is occasionally sighted in the UK, but these are thought to be released/escaped individuals.

Overwinters as an adult.

Wingspan: M: 68-72mm, F: 72-75mm
Foodplant(s): elms (Ulmus spp.), Aspen (Populus tremula), poplars (Populus spp.), broadleaved trees
Flying: One generation, July-April (hibernates)
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Highly Endangered

Habitat

Clearings and edges of mature woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 1 (0.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Baden-Württemberg.
