A Tale of the Snowdrop

Snowdrop Galanthus nivalis

It is always good to see the snowdrops poking their heads out of the snow. A sign that spring is coming. We start to see them in February and March but they often get covered with fresh snow. The plants keep flowering nevertheless and are visited by the first bees and overwintering butterflies that emerge when the sunny weather starts.

A Tale of the Amaryllis
Amaryllis

Amaryllis

I decided to add the amaryllis, despite it being an indoor plant. It is in the genus Hippeastrum within this family.
